First organized in 1941 by a handful of Brecksville residents, Brecksville
Little Theatre was incorporated as a non-profit community organization in 1949
under charter by the State of Ohio.  Performances have been continually held in
the Old Town Hall, a registered historic landmark, in the center of Brecksville at
Routes 21 and 82. The City of Brecksville renovated the building as a dedicated
theatre facility in 1998.  Generally four productions are held annually.  Season
subscriptions offer discounted admission, and groups may also purchase blocks
of seats or the entire house at reduced rates.  All seats are reserved and tickets
are to be picked up no later than 15 minutes before curtain time. Reservations
can be made by phoning the box office or via email.

Brecksville Little Theatre, committed to the community, also
participates in various community events, such as Memorial Day activities,
Christmas parades, Home Days fairs, dedications, entertaining at schools,
churches, hospitals, and senior citizen functions.  The Theatre provides two
scholarship awards to deserving high school seniors in the arts and humanities.
The awards bear the names of deceased members honored for their dedication
to BLT-- The Jack Hruby  Humanities Award, and the Schoenfelt Dramatics
Award.   In 2003 the group re-established its youth theatre program, offering
summer workshops to children at no charge.  The workshops culminate in a
weekend production at which the only charge for admission is a non-perishable
food item for the Food Bank.

The group has been self-sufficient, relying on admission receipts, patron
donations, and a modest membership fee.  As a not-for-profit, BLT operates with
a membership of dedicated volunteers who give limitless hours of their time,
effort and above all, heart.  Volunteers are always welcome for onstage and
backstage positions.  No experience is required.  Auditions for actors are open
and are generally held 8 weeks prior to the opening of a show. Membership
meetings are held every 3nd Monday of the Month.
